Over-beach bungalows, or “ares,” look out onto the Rarotonga’s deep blue lagoon, while “Pia Tiare,” or garden houses, are nestled among fragrant tropical flowers. The ares feature private gazebos, outdoor spa tubs, and rich, mahogany woodwork. Pia Tiare have the extra feature of a gas burner, microwave and toaster, allowing couples a full retreat of their own. (Note to smokers: The resort follows an extremely strict no-smoking policy, including in the rooms.)
Relaxation & Romance – Little Polynesian
Dedicated to relaxation and romance, the Little Polynesian offers guests sheer indulgence in the beauty and atmosphere of its stunning location. Snorkeling and kayaking are available, and the resort has filled its infinity pool with salt water, rather than have chemical treatments disturb the health both of its guests and the environment. Bask in the warm sun as you lounge along the beach or poolside, allowing the outside world and its pressures to vanish from your thoughts. By night, take part in Rarotonga’s humming nightlife and fascinating local dance performances – or continue your escape from reality by dining on your private verandah, fulfilled by the glorious colors and jewel-like visions of the sun as it sets over the south Pacific waters.
